Vertias Alumni is the first STOP Graduate Sworn in as Police Aid

The STOP program was created by the police department to find a way to improve interactions with Milwaukee’s youth. Students apply to be part of the seven week program where officers meet with student leaders for an hour a week. Rivera was one of the first to apply for the program when it came to Veritas High School. On August 4th, he was sworn in as a police aide where he will learn about the rules and regulations of the MPD. After Rivera takes 24 college credits, he will be eligible to join a recruit class to become a police officer.
